Fall Season The fall is our busiest season and the most exciting time at Wasem Fruit Farm. Our U-Pick apple season runs from mid-September through the end of October. We're open during this time 7 days a week from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. We are also open during the first part of November, for limited hours. During the fall season, we have over a dozen varieties of apples available for U-Pick and even more varieties available in our store room. We have a limited number of U-Pick raspberries available in September and early October. Usually around the beginning of October we have pumpkins of all shapes and sizes available for picking. Pears are also available during the season, although we do not have U-Pick on our Bartlett, Spartlett, and Bosc pears. When visiting our farm in the autumn, you will find much more than just fruits. We make some of the best cider you will ever taste, and incredible donuts. In fact, we make several kinds of donuts including plain batter, apple batter, blueberry batter, and pumpkin batter; all in plain, cinnamon-sugar, and other frosted varieties. While there, you will not want to pass up delicious apple butter and other jams and jellies. In October, you will be able to find an assortment of other pleasures such as mini-pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks, and straw. If you are still seeking more family fun, you may visit the incredible corn maze at Talladay Farms, just 1/4 mile west of us. View our Fall 2007 newsletter: (PDF). |
